Currently, Johnson Chou is among "The Best 30 Designers in Canada" as chosen and awarded by AZURE Magazine.

In 2012, in recognition of his work, he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.

As a Member of the Advisory Board for the Museum of Canadian Contemporary Art (MoCA), his support and involvement with the visual arts continues.

In 2011 he became Vice-President of the Royal Canadian Academy or the Arts (RCA) after his induction into the organization (2008) in recognition of his work.

He is a founding Curator for Red Bull’s "381 Projects"
