The words of media theorist Marshall McLuhan have been a source of inspiration in our search for the form and image for the Jiang Men Television Center.If we agree with the assertion that “the medium is the message”, then the Television Center should engage and convey to the public its role in the community and
the functions that occur within. The building must not only transform and adapt to its varied needs, but also be a vessel and conveyor of image and information. Therefore the building itself becomes a metaphorical television: both a “projector” and “screen”.
