This is the second project by the designers for Grip, the original space was located above Caban on Queen West. The essential question for the designers was: how does one express creativity within the lexicon of architecture? Our solution was threefold and begins with an interpretation of creativity: that creativity is activated by the exchange of ideas.
Architecturally, they are: the creation of a collection of formal and informal meeting spaces throughout the agency offering variegated spatial experiences; that the path towards these spaces be an enjoyable one; and that the notion of play would be made manifest in the blurring of the distinctions of what would normally be perceived as indoor or outdoor materials and elements.
